Privacy Policy

Last updated May 2026

Data we collect

  • Account details — your email and authentication identifiers, handled by our auth provider when you sign up or sign in.
  • Waitlist email — if you join the waitlist. We store it encrypted; the plaintext email is never written to our database in readable form.
  • Your tickers and settings — the symbols you follow and your notification preferences.
  • Portfolio data you upload— if you choose to paste or upload holdings for drift and P&L tracking. This is stored encrypted.
  • AI tutor conversations — your questions and the responses, stored encrypted so you can revisit a session.
  • Push subscription tokens — only if you enable push notifications.
  • Limited technical metadata — e.g. a truncated user-agent string and basic usage logs to operate and secure the service. We do not store raw IP addresses with your waitlist entry.

How we use it

We use your data to operate the service: to authenticate you, generate and deliver your reports, run the on-demand analyzer and AI tutor, send the emails and notifications you opt into, and to keep the service secure and reliable. We do not sell your personal data.

Processors and sub-processors

We rely on the following third-party providers to run TickerNote. Your data is processed by them only as needed to deliver the service, and each has its own privacy policy:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management.
  • Supabase — our database, where your tickers, settings, encrypted portfolio data, and encrypted AI conversations are stored.
  • Resend — sending transactional and report emails.
  • Vercel — application hosting and serving.
  • Anthropic and Perplexity — large-language-model processing that powers report narratives, the on-demand analyzer, and the AI tutor. Prompts may include the context needed to answer (e.g. an excerpt of your latest report).

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Reports are kept on a rolling archive.

Your choices and rights

You can update your tickers and notification settings at any time from your dashboard, and you can opt out of emails and push notifications.

Self-serve data export and deletion are coming soon. We have not yet built in-product tools to export or delete all of your data, so we are not claiming that capability exists today. In the meantime, email hello@tickernote.com and we will action an export or deletion request manually.

Security

Sensitive fields such as your email, uploaded portfolio, and AI conversations are encrypted at the application layer before storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we aim to follow sensible practices to protect your data.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the product evolves; material changes will be reflected here with an updated date. Questions or requests: hello@tickernote.com.
