TickerNote is a disciplined, auditable research process for self-directed investors — a daily pre-market brief built only from primary sources, with every signal's formula published. A paper portfolio trades those signals in public, losses and drawdowns included. No edge claims, no "beat the market" promises: just a method you can check yourself before you rely on it.

Powered by primary-source market data
The pre-market research desk you'd hire if you could
TickerNote is a daily research service for individual investors who manage their own portfolios but don't have an hour every morning to scan charts, parse SEC filings, read earnings transcripts, and triangulate options flow. We do that work and deliver the conclusions — by 8:30 AM ET, every weekday, in your inbox and on a focused dashboard.
Every signal in your report comes from primary sources: live prices and fundamentals from yfinance, options chains and analyst recommendations from Finnhub, Form 4 insider trades from SEC EDGAR, and macro indicators from the Federal Reserve (FRED). No second-hand rumors, no paywalled analyst gossip, no vague "experts say" prose. Every calculation is reproducible from the same published formula.
Built for decision-makers
You're not a day trader. You hold positions for weeks or months, have $10K-$500K invested, and want clarity before market open — not 100 push notifications throughout the day. TickerNote is built for that mode.
Transparent methodology
Every BUY/SELL signal includes the technical score, the rationale, and the entry/stop/target prices. A monthly backtest publishes the historical hit rate of each signal class. Nothing is hidden behind 'proprietary models.'
Verifiable track record
A live paper portfolio runs every recommendation autonomously. Its P&L is visible on every signed-in user's dashboard — including drawdowns and losing trades. We can't quietly cherry-pick wins.
Built by Akshit Bajaj, a strategy consultant based in Calgary, who uses TickerNote to manage his own portfolio.
Important: TickerNote is research and educational software. We are not registered investment advisors, and nothing on this site or in our reports constitutes personal investment advice. Markets carry risk; past performance is not predictive. Consult a qualified professional before making investment decisions.
One product, six surfaces
Not a newsletter. An automated research desk that wakes up before you do — and trades its own signals in public so you can audit the call.
Daily morning brief
Pre-market research on the names you follow — technicals, options flow, insider activity, earnings calendar, macro regime, and a prioritised action queue with entry / stop / target levels. Markdown + PDF, in your inbox every weekday.
Live paper portfolio
A $10K paper portfolio trades TickerNote's signals every weekday — the equity curve, win rate, and the gap vs the S&P 500, all public, losses included. No edge claims.
See it live →On-demand stock analysis
Type any US ticker, get a one-page readout: 1-year technicals (50/200-day MAs, RSI, 52-week range), a deterministic BUY/HOLD/SELL verdict, and an AI narrative with citations on what's driving the stock right now.
AI tutor, grounded in your report
Ask anything — "why did this stock get a BUY High?", "explain RSI in one paragraph", "what's driving the macro regime call?" The tutor reads your latest report so answers reference your data, with sources cited. It explains concepts and the report's reasoning — it won't give personal buy/sell calls.
Mid-day assessment
How are this morning's calls tracking? Which stops fired, which targets hit, which positions changed conviction? A short snapshot so you don't have to refresh charts all day.
Portfolio P&L + drift
Drop in your holdings (CSV/XLSX or paste). Every morning the report shows position P&L, drift from target weights, and which of your holdings the signals flag for attention — no scanning required.

Frequently asked
- Is this financial advice?
- No. TickerNote is a research and data tool. We publish signals, technical indicators, and computed metrics. We don't recommend specific securities for your specific situation — that's your call. Always do your own due diligence.
- What stocks are covered?
- The default universe is 44 large-cap leaders across tech, healthcare, energy, financials, and international. You can also add any other publicly traded US stock to your personal universe.
- How accurate are the signals?
- Technical indicators are computed deterministically from price/volume data — RSI, MACD, etc. are math, not predictions. Our scoring engine combines multiple signals to surface candidates worth your attention. Markets are uncertain by nature; nothing predicts the future perfectly.
- What about real-time alerts?
- Not in v1. TickerNote is designed around one clean morning brief rather than a stream of intraday phone notifications. Real-time alerts are on the roadmap for a later tier.
- Where does the data come from?
- Multiple primary sources: yfinance for prices and options, Finnhub for insider trades and news, FRED for macro indicators, and SEC EDGAR direct for filings. All sources are listed on every report.
- What does it cost?
- TickerNote is free during early access — we're not charging yet and there's no checkout. The planned model is Free / $19 Pro / $39 Trader per month. We'll give notice before any billing begins, and there are no contracts.
